Determining How to Bring the Coffeehouse Experience to Home
The Challenge
Our client was going through innovation planning for their coffee business and needed to understand which product platforms and subsequent ideas to invest in as next big bets. They had plenty of initial idea sparks (from us, as well as past work-streams) along with prototypes from their flavor houses, but lacked the insight and conviction to move these ideas forward with confidence. We needed to determine which ideas had the most relevance and understand the “why” and “how” to inform successful R&D development efforts.
Path Forward
We conducted Sensory Experience Labs to co-create and uncover the attributes that are critical, nice to have, and those that uniquely delight respondents. We then assessed and pressure-tested initial concepts and sketches to determine which platforms and ideas to pursue, and how.
Impact
Our agile approach with these two consumer touchpoints provided the key insights for R&D, packaging, and brand take ideas into charter.
